BREATHING BARS 2 - Submitting Snoring
No amount of snoring is normal & thinking otherwise is COPE!
What it do!!!!!
I want to start this post by saying this:
NO AMOUNT OF SNORING IS NORMAL.
IT DONT EVEN LOOK NORMAL PEOPLE CMON!
If you are snoring at night, you are breathing through your mouth at night. Even if you do not think that you snore, chances are you are still snoring.
The modern mans mouth is no longer properly equipped to hold the tongue (pause). The tongue falling backwards into the mouth while we sleep is what causes snoring.
Quite literally, you are snoring because you are choking on your tongue while you are sleeping.
If you are unsure of whether or not you snore, you should assume that you likely do even if only marginally. Also, if your facial structure even SLIGHTLY resembles this:
(LMFAOOOOO)
I promise that you are doin a bit of snoring or at the very least some day time mouth breathing.
Due to the modern diet (there will be much more written in the future about how the modern diet relates to our inability to breathe) humans do not chew enough.
Lack of chewing leads to underdeveloped jaw muscles, making it more likely to fall open while you sleep. Which in turn, allows your tongue to fall back & thus causing you to snore.
Did I mention that a poorly built jawline also leads to smaller & narrower nasal airways? (MASTIC GUM BABY!! (Yes, this is an affiliate link for Mastic Gum that I use daily if you wish to purchase it)
Before we get into “fixing” (remember, I am no doctor) your snoring. Let’s talk a bit more about why snoring is so bad.
SNORING IS SINFUL!!!
Native Americans (but many (read: nearly all) Indigenous cultures felt the same) believed that
Breath inhaled though the mouth sapped the body of strength, deformed the face and caused stress & disease.
But breath inhaled through the nose kept the body strong, made the face beautiful & prevented disease
SYMPTOMS OF SNORING
Dry mouth upon waking up (Sahara)
Bad morning breath (stank)
Waking up to pee often at night (couldn’t be me)
Lack of energy in morning/grogginess (YOU SHOULD WAKE UP FIRED UP FOR THE DAY)
Morning headaches
A lot of cavities (mouth breathing (in general) at night is terrible for your teeth)
Poor sleep quality/lack of REM sleep (snoring wakes you up out of sleep, think about it, you’re choking on your tongue lmfao)
I feel as though it is important to note that you can nasal breathe all day & do great work for yourself
BUT IF YOU MOUTH BREATHE ALL NIGHT
You are undoing a lot of that good work.
Yes, that sounds extreme. Yes, that is the reality. Mouth breathing is that bad for your system (more to come very soon on Nasal vs Mouth breathing)
COMBATTING SNORING
Ready for this? It’s incredibly complex.
Tape your mouth at night. This is how you stop snoring. A simple piece of tape to make it so your jaw doesn’t fall open while sleeping.
We are stopping gravity from doing its thing. Pretty cool to be more powerful than gravity, even if only for the night. (Unless u are me HA HAHAH HA)
I used to believe that we would need to sleep tape forever to never snore, I no longer believe this to be the case. But I’ll talk bout that later.
When you tape your mouth shut at night it makes it so you can only breathe through your nose.
This is perfect, it’s exactly what we want. Now at first, like many things in life, this practice will feel slightly uncomfortable.
You may not like the way the tape feels, you may feel claustrophobic. This is normal & will more than likely subside after continued use.
I would be lying to you if I said that I didn’t take my tape off the first few nights I tried sleeping with it on.
But persistence paid off
& all it took was embracing discomfort in order to attain something more optimal. It didn’t take very long but now I reap the benefits of night time nasal breathing.
I also sleep like a King.
I’ll talk more about this later, but because of my Tourette’s I already have difficulty sleeping. Mouth breathing & snoring at night exacerbated this even further. I would wake up nearly every hour through the night. Often times having to pee 3-4 times a night. Would wake up with terrible dry mouth & be super groggy in the morning.
Mouth taping changed my sleep so drastically that I’d say it changed my life.
WHAT TAPE DO I USE?
This is a very shameless plug but I do have a breathing tape brand that I am affiliated with.
I have been using this tape every night for over six months now. It is a medical grade, hypoallergenic, paper based tape (latex free as well). Personally, I have never noticed a bad aftertaste on my lips (PAUSE) after use & of all the tape I tried, this one rips my facial hair out the very least (nearly none at all).
The tape also comes pre cut in sheets so that you know exactly how much to use all night already, which I really appreciate it. This tape can also be used during breathwork training or during exercise when you want to really hone in on nasal breathing.
Needless to say, I treat breathing tape like I do any of my other supplements. It travels with me.
If you want to purchase the same tape I use click the link HERE & use code FIGHTER10 at discount for 10% off your order. Note that 1 sheet = 1 month supply of tape.
Buy from this brand, or don’t. Either way is fine by me, but mouth tape with SOMETHING (don’t use electrical or duct tape, I learned hard way). It is NON NEGOTIABLE in terms of your breathing & overall health.
You MUST SUBMIT your night time mouth breathing!!!
Thank you very much for reading & GOD BLESS! Please people, PLEASE, fix your nighttime mouth breathing. I literally beg of you (& I dont beg NO ONE for NOTHING)!!!!

P.S. I do 1 on 1 consult calls where I teach things like proper breathing & breathing hygiene, proper use of cold exposure & other daily disciplinary health practices. For the month of August I am doing 20% off all consult calls if you type in AUGUST at checkout!
So if you want to learn breathing from me directly, you know where to find me.
Curious if you have any info you have a deviated septum? I do, and I also snore, and was also diagnosed with moderate to severe sleep apnea with a nasal pillow mask.
Have CPAP machine, haven't gotten deviated septum taken care of yet.
Sleep study said I didn't mouth breath, but was still snoring. And since I have deviated septum, air flow through nose is less than optimal?
Have all the symptoms listed at top of article when no CPAP btw.
Not sure if you have any info on this. No worries if not but my sleep apnea journey has been a constant battle
I started using the mouth tape you recommended and it’s helping with my snoring a lot. Thank you Fighter 💪🏻🙏🏻
